Monthly Financial Reporting Services and Management Reports
Our monthly financial reporting services turn accounting data into answers. Standard statements show what was spent. A good reporting package shows which products earn money, which departments run over budget and how much cash the business will have next quarter.

Reports built for your business
A restaurant owner needs food cost and labor percentage by week. A contractor needs profit by job. A software company needs recurring revenue and churn. None of these come from a default profit and loss statement. We set up your chart of accounts, classes and tracking categories so the data supports the reports you need, then build a monthly package that presents them in a consistent format.
Profit and loss segmentation
A single profit figure hides which parts of the business carry the others. Segmenting the profit and loss by product line, service, location or department shows where margin is made and where it leaks. We allocate shared costs such as rent, software and management time using drivers you agree with, so the segment results can be defended in a discussion with partners or lenders.
Once segments are in place, trends become visible. You can see a service line shrinking in margin for six months before the overall profit moves, and act while the change is still small.
Balance sheet and cash flow
We review the balance sheet each month for items that do not belong: old uncleared deposits, loans recorded as equity, fixed assets that were expensed. We present it with supporting schedules for receivables, payables, loans and fixed assets, so the figures can be traced to source documents. That level of support is what bankers, buyers and auditors ask for.
The cash flow statement connects profit to cash. We show how much cash the operations produced, how much went into equipment and how much came from or went to lenders and owners. A forward cash forecast sits alongside it, so you see both the past quarter and the next one.
Management reporting and analysis
The monthly management package combines the statements with a short list of KPIs, a comparison to budget and prior year and a page of commentary. The commentary explains the three or four biggest movements and what we recommend. Owners and boards tend to read the commentary first, so we write it to stand on its own.
Reports are delivered in a format your team can open without special software, and we can present them in a monthly call. If your lender requires covenant reporting, we build that schedule into the package.
Reporting for lenders, buyers and investors
Outside readers ask for a different level of detail than owners do. A bank wants covenant calculations and debt service coverage. A buyer wants a quality-of-earnings view with one-time items identified. An investor wants growth, burn and runway. We prepare each package from the same books, with adjustments listed and supported so that any figure can be traced to a source.
Preparing for those requests before they arrive saves time during a refinancing or a sale. We keep an updated set of historical statements and schedules so that a request from a lender can be answered in days.

What is the difference between financial reporting and bookkeeping?
Bookkeeping records and reconciles transactions. Reporting organizes the results into statements and analysis for decisions. Reporting depends on accurate bookkeeping.
Can you report separately for each location or department?
Yes. We set up classes or tracking categories in your accounting software and allocate shared costs on an agreed basis.
Do you prepare statements for lenders?
Yes. We prepare statements and supporting schedules in the format a lender requires, including covenant calculations.
Which software do you report from?
QuickBooks Online and Xero, with reports delivered as PDF and spreadsheet files.
